Jordan’s Brains: A Zombie Evolution is FREE on Kindle August 17th – 18th, 2013.
This novel tells the tale of a psychotic yet friendly zombie expert whose gender is never revealed. Having prepared for the zombie apocalypse since childhood, Jordan is thrilled when hordes of the infected undead finally invade. With a bug-out bag and a confident grin, Jordan leaves the safety of the psychiatric hospital and wanders alone into the zombie-infested streets to rescue family and strangers alike. Everything seems perfect until Jordan’s loved ones start dying, and Jordan has to face the harsh reality that the zombie apocalypse isn’t going according to plan.
Here are some reviews of Jordan’s Brains: A Zombie Evolution on Amazon.
“Loved this book. Not as brutal and gory as most of the zombie books I’ve read, but it really didn’t need to be. Really funny at times, but more so in the beginning before things get serious. This book sets up all the traditional ‘rules’ of zombie literature and then knocks them down, including what exactly constitutes being a zombie. I suspect that, like myself, the author gets annoyed with the people that are hung up on what zombies ‘have to’ be and the way they ‘have to’ act. To me, the things that were different about this book were part of what made it great. The main character was fantastic and I loved that, in another of the book’s breaks with tradition, you never found out his or her gender.” (Review written by Ian McClellan, author of Zombie Apocalypse 2012: A Political Horror Story)
“J. Michel has woven in complex themes of the inner psyche of Jordan as Zombiehood sinks into the main character’s home, family, and literally blood. Not only does J. Michel explore the moral implications of becoming a Zombie with your compassion somewhat intact, but Jordan’s Brains also scrutinizes the choices of every single person in such times. Zombies are people too, as the saying goes, and the characters in this book grapple with trying to survive while a cure is sought. As Jordan walks on all sides of the Zombie equation from obsessed lunatic to heroic human survivor to Zombie scavenger and ultimately leader of a great horde of destruction, the story keeps you turning pages, taking deep breaths to calm your shivers and chills, and thinking fast and furious. I won’t say more, or else I’ll reveal the ending, but as the Zombie Apocalypse hits closer to home than any of us ever want to imagine, this book will leave you with a lot to think about! Good work J. Cornell Michel!” (Review written by Rivera Sun, author of Steam Drills, Treadmills, and Shooting Stars)
